  1. This article can be expanded, but I’m not sure how to do it. We also have evidence of ancient people’s using electricity, the Egyptian and Baghdad batteries for instance and hieroglyphs of pictures vaguely resembling light bulbs, so they may have had electricity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendera_light Of course it’s unlikely they used it, as the article shows, but knowing the Egyptians it wouldn’t surprise me.
    The most common form of portable light was candlelight, lamp light and torch light, with the torch being the oldest since it’s just a burning stick basically.
