Have you ever had ‘that feeling’, intuition, that something is about to happen, or that something just doesn’t add up or is not quite right (be it a specific situation or otherwise)?
Also called your gut instinct, intuition is unfortunately something that many people ignore or are not attune with. For others, the signals of intuition can be a rooted, ingrained natural reaction to situations where something ‘is off’ and may even signify some sort of threat, hazard or danger.
Intuition is a direct perception of truth, fact, etc., independent of any reasoning process; immediate apprehension (Dictionary).
Intuition is a phenomenon of the mind, describes the ability to acquire knowledge without inference or the use of reason (Wikipedia).
It is somewhat a mystery how it works, given that we are not consciously seeking for a specific signal – it just ‘happens’.
