One comment on “Here’s Why You Should NOT Panic Over Ebola

  1. Here is my problem with the “calm down” meme; People die. I just read that foru people have died from the mystery disease that is presumed to have been brought here by the ilegal children who Obama encouraged to come here and then sent to many communites through out our country to attend schools next to our children. How many will die? Everyone of those deaths will have been unnecessary and preventable. The government might as well have gone to the schools and shot these four people. The same wil be true for ebola. It may comfort you that ebola is hard to catch. We keep hearing that. Yet in Africa experts (doctors trained in communicable diseases) with apporpriate equipment that you and I certainly don’t have caught ebola. Not just one doctor but numerous health cre workers caught this disease that is so hard to catch. So why was it allowed into our country? Ignorance, incompetence, stupidity, arrogance, intentional? Yes to all of these. Now that it’s here can we contain it and not have a single death? I’m not so sure. If it were your child who caught this from some kid brought here by your government (or not prevented from coming here by your government) would you still feel so confident that there is no problem. And if your child plays with your other children and their parents and grandparents and you all get ebola do you still say “calm down”? What if 1000 people get it? What if 10,000 get it? What if 100,000 get it? Will the response still be “calm down”? At what point does somene say maybe the president should be impeached for allowing this terrible disease into the country. Maybe officials should be fired. Maybe people should go to jail. We now know this latest ebola case came to this country expressly because he knew he had ebloa and knew he would get better treatment here. What if a couple hundred people like that come here? What if they decide to take the Southern route across our unguarded border? I know “calm down”!! I have an idea! Lets be angry at the people who aren’t calming down. Lets make THEM the problem. Yeah I know it’s stupid but it wil take the heat off our government for their failure to protect us. If we are lucky and this is the one and only case of ebola and 6 months to a year from now it is a non-story then we were lucky and I will be calmed down. But do not forget that in that case “we were lucky”. We choose not to take the steps to protect ourselves and we were LUCKY. Why not choose intelligent actions over luck? Wait! I know the answer; calm down…
