Light is extremely valuable, and will be even more so when grid power is down. Naturally, that means that any prepared person should make a point of learning or buying multiple methods of lighting their retreat. Everything from solar lights to bacon candles can suffice, so long as it doesn’t require constant access to the electrical grid.
Disclaimer: Many of these lights are improvised and as such you need to exercise caution when trying to use them. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy (particularly for any candle involving grease!) while you’re experimenting and be smart about where you start your fire.
Solar Garden Lights
Fairly common in many areas, these little guys are probably the simplest way to harness solar power for light.
