  1. I’ll second all your comments above. While I was still in grade school, I learned the code in 1957 to get my ham license. I still use it often. Learn it by sound, not by looking at a code chart. I was taught by an ex Navy radioman. He’d send a letter over and over and instructed us to write the letter each time we heard it so we learned the reflex of writing what we heard. It worked. I have operated using code from a mobile rig while cruising on the Interstate. I copy in my head without writing it down so it’s just like carrying on a conversation with no need to look anywhere other than keeping eyes on the road.
