Comparing Some Emergency Food Storage Options
After all the destruction seen brought on by Super Storm Sandy it makes you really take a step back and look at you own preparedness. Would I be able to take care of my family during a Natural Disaster or would I be like the masses looking for food and water, gas for the generator and every other basic necessity?
The time to act is now and get those food supplies purchased and put away for just what we’ve seen unfold in the aftermath of Sandy. It would be a lot more comforting knowing you had a back closet full of supplies to get you through the first 72hrs, or even what I suggest is 2 weeks. This is a much better choice when you look at the total destruction left behind and how long it might take to get stores restocked and power restored.
A great way to be prepared for all your Emergency Food Storage needs is easy to prepare food pouches. Mostly used for camping and hiking it makes a great choice for an Emergency Food Supply for you and your family in case of any emergency or natural disaster. Online retailers carry easy to prepare meals in Pouches, 7 and 5 Day Box Kits or Long Term Storage Buckets. There are multiple choices and products so it will be easy to get the right amount of food for your family.
We are going to look at some of the choices out there and what they have to offer. A lot depends on your personal preferences and what kind of storage room you have. These kits can be stored for five (5+) years in a cool, dry environment so you can always feel safe and secure knowing you and your family will always be prepared.

Hey survival guy. Great post!! What is the amount per box typically? Or price point they start at?

Hi Yummygal hope all is well, thanks for the comment. Cost and sizes vary depending on the manufacturer; they start around $30 and go up from there depending on the size of the kit. They make all kinds from fruits and veggie storage buckets, meat storage buckets and the kits that you see in the post. You can also buy individual pouches and make your own kits.
Here’s a link to our recommended supplier and if you need anything then drop them an email and they will help you out.
